Our Story
Once upon a time...
okay, not that long ago, we were trying to teach our little tornadoes—I mean, kids—an Indian language.

But bringing up two boys outside of India, we quickly realised something: finding fun, engaging activity books in Indian languages was harder than getting a toddler to eat something green.
We didn’t just want our kids to learn an Indian language—we wanted them to love it.
But where were the books that made learning feel like an adventure?
Where were the books with silly surprises, things to touch, flip, and pull? Most importantly...
Where were the books with fart jokes?!
So, we decided to make them.

Namrata Dwivedi
Co-Founder, Storyteller, and Chief Fun Officer
Namrata has lived in four countries, worked at two of the biggest tech giants (Apple and Amazon), and survived raising two cheeky boys—which, let’s be honest, is the most impressive of the three.
Originally from Kanpur, a city where tall tales are practically a currency, Namrata grew up in a lively joint family filled with grandparents, uncles, and aunts who spun stories as easily as they made chai. She quickly learned that a day without an incident that could be turned into a great story was a day wasted. Even her dreams, in her opinion, should be story-worthy, or why bother sleeping?
But when she moved outside India 17 years ago and started raising her boys, she noticed something missing—fun, engaging activity books in Indian languages.
She didn’t just want her kids to learn an Indian language; she wanted them to laugh, explore, and have fun with it. And so, she put her storytelling superpowers to work and started creating the books she wished existed.
Usha Dubey
Advisor, Educator, and Grandkid Wrangler
After 42 years of teaching Science in Hindi-medium schools, mentoring thousands of kids, and earning degrees in Education, Economics, and Home Science, Usha Dubey finally retired—only to realize that grandkids are an even tougher bunch to manage than students.

As an advisor to the company, she brings decades of wisdom, a deep passion for education, and a keen eye for making learning engaging. Even after retirement, she remains invested in creating better educational tools for kids—because once a teacher, always a teacher!

These days, when she’s not busy knitting sweaters, tidying up after grandkids, or pretending to enjoy the chaos they create, she experiments with new recipes for her social channel (where her food is often stolen by said grandkids before it can be photographed).

With her wealth of experience, love for children, and superhuman patience, Usha ensures that every book we create is not only fun but also meaningful. Because learning should be as warm and comforting as a homemade sweater—minus the itchy part.

Ashok Kumar Dubey
Advisor, Geologist, and Storytelling Granddad
From the bustling streets of Ujjain and Bhopal to a national scholarship in the UK for his PhD in Geology, Ashok Kumar Dubey has always had a deep love for learning, discovery, and the art of explaining complex things simply. After returning to India, he spent years teaching at the University of Roorkee (now IIT-Roorkee) before continuing his passion for education and research at a premier institution in Dehradun, mentoring countless PhD scholars along the way.

A renowned geologist, Ashok has served as an editor for multiple international journals, including those published by Elsevier. He is also the best-selling author of Understanding an Orogenic Belt, a reference book on Geology published by Springer—a book that, while brilliant, his grandkids still prefer to use as a fort rather than read.

Now retired, Ashok advises the company on creating engaging educational tools for kids—because if he can explain plate tectonics to scientists, he can certainly help make learning fun for little minds! These days, when he’s not reading or playing with his grandkids, he’s probably wondering how a house full of tiny humans can cause more disruption than an actual earthquake.
Nidhi Wadhwa – Illustrator, Dreamer, and Chief Doodler
For over 20 years, Nidhi Wadhwa has been bringing stories to life—one doodle, one splash of color, and one quirky character at a time. As the founder of Blue Fish Tales, she has built her illustration business from the ground up, proving that a love for art (and probably an unhealthy amount of coffee) can turn dreams into reality.

She is passionate about designing for children—and for the child in each of us. Her characters don’t just exist on paper; they eat, sleep, and dance in her imagination (sometimes causing absolute chaos).

Nidhi and her team at Blue Fish Tales are the creative wizards behind the Nonu and Popo books, filling them with magic, mischief, and a splash of silliness. She also serves as a design advisor to the company, ensuring that every page sparks joy, curiosity, and just the right amount of giggles.

When she’s not illustrating, you’ll find her sharing her wisdom with budding artists, proving that creativity isn’t just about talent—it’s about passion, persistence, and never outgrowing the joy of a good doodle.

Our books are designed for imaginative, wiggly, curious little minds—the kind that get bored in 0.2 seconds unless they’re actively doing something. With interactive elements that make learning fun (and keep little hands off screens), our books turn language learning into a game.
After years of research, testing, and very strong opinions from educationalists, parents, and our own tiny critics, we’ve created something special — books that are as serious about learning as they are about silliness.
Yes, they teach counting, colors, vocabulary and pronunciation, but they also mention bums, burps, and things that make kids giggle. Because when kids are laughing, they’re learning.
So welcome to our world—where learning an Indian language is as fun as a game, as wild as an adventure, and just silly enough to keep kids coming back for more.
